The vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 extravaganza came to an end on December 17 and we saw some great kabaddi being played with a lot of thrill and passion. We came across defenders who made it count for their sides when it was needed the most and gave an upper hand to their team against the opposition.

Let’s take a look at the defenders who scored the most points in the defence.

Ankush, Jaipur Pink Panthers

The young defender was a treat to watch in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9. Ankush never made it look as if he’s playing his first season as went on to become the lead the charts in the defence. He showed great maturity as a defender and made it difficult for the raiders to score points against him. The left corner amassed 89 tackle points for Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, Patna Pirates

The Pirate was one of the most fearless tacklers in the tournament. He kept the raiders on the back foot and was the backbone of the Pirates’ defence. Chiyaneh who was just playing his second vivo PKL season registered his name in the record books when he scored 16 tackle points in one of the matches. He scored 84 tackle points in 20 matches.

Saurabh Nandal, Bengaluru Bulls

The Bull was a livewire on the mat and managed to keep the raiders quiet even though he was playing as a right corner instead of his normal left cover position. He took up the scoring responsibility in the defence which gave the Bulls’ raiders the freedom to express themselves. Saurabh Nandal was consistent in defence and produced 72 tackle points for Bengaluru Bulls.

Sunil Kumar, Jaipur Pink Panthers

The Panthers’ captain managed to perform the dual responsibility with some precision. He not only lifted the trophy for Jaipur Pink Panthers but he proved his mettle in the defence by bringing the raiders to a halt with all his strength. Sunil Kumar accumulated 64 tackle points with the help of four High 5s and two Super Tackles.

Aman, Bengaluru Bulls

The tackler produced a robust performance in the defence for the Bulls this season. He played a vital role in Bengaluru Bulls’ road to the playoffs. Aman showed great character and didn’t hesitate to get rid of the raiders with his powerful clutches. The left corner scored 60 tackle points and also bagged three High 5s and Super Tackles each.
