The Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 is heating up, and Match 15 will see U Mumba face Bengaluru Bulls at the Vishwanadh Sports Club, Vizag, tonight at 7:30 PM IST. U Mumba have had a solid start, winning two of their first three matches, while Bengaluru Bulls are still searching for their first win of the season.
This clash brings together two defensive captains — Sunil Kumar, the most successful captain in PKL history, and Ankush, one of the brightest young defenders in the league — leading their teams on very different trajectories so far.

This game brings together two defensive captains who share a history. Sunil Kumar, the most successful captain in PKL history, has led his teams to the playoffs in five of the last six seasons, including a title with Jaipur Pink Panthers in PKL 9. He now commands U Mumba, who have started PKL 12 brightly.
On the other side is Ankush, leading Bengaluru Bulls in just his second full season. Interestingly, Ankush played under Sunil’s captaincy at Jaipur, even lifting the PKL 9 trophy together. However, while Sunil’s leadership has kept U Mumba steady, Ankush has struggled — his team remains winless, and his own performance dipped in the last match, where he failed to register a single tackle point.
U Mumba’s Ajit Chouhan continues to grow into one of PKL’s rising stars. After a strong debut season last year, he’s taken over as lead raider for Mumba and has already delivered a Super 10 against Haryana Steelers. With a raid strike rate of nearly 60%, Ajit has become Mumba’s focal point in attack.
His biggest challenge will be the corner pairing of Yogesh and Ankush. Both have had slow starts to PKL 12, but historically, they rank among the top defenders in tackle strike rate. If they find their rhythm, Ajit’s job will get much harder.
The Bengaluru Bulls have endured a frustrating start. They lost a close tie-breaker to Puneri Paltan despite strong performances from Akash Shinde (Super 10) and Ankush (High 5). But both failed to deliver in the next game, as Bulls fell comfortably to Dabang Delhi.
Akash, who was brought to lead their raiding department, needs to find consistency. So far, the Bulls average 21.5 raid points per game, tied for fourth-best in the league, but they haven’t converted those into wins. For them to turn the corner, both Akash and Ankush must lead from the front.
U Mumba have rediscovered their fighting spirit in PKL 12. They’ve played three thrillers already — two tie-breakers (winning one, losing one) and a narrow victory over Tamil Thalaivas. Sitting fourth in the table, they’ve shown resilience and balance.
Ajit Chouhan has established himself as lead raider, while Lokesh Ghosliya is emerging as a reliable presence in the left corner. With Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal anchoring the defence, Mumba look like serious playoff contenders.
The Bulls are one of only three teams yet to taste victory in PKL 12. They fought hard in their opener against Puneri Paltan, losing narrowly in a tie-breaker despite Akash Shinde’s Super 10 and Ankush’s High 5. But their second outing was disappointing, as Dabang Delhi outclassed them.
The Bulls need consistency from their star players. Akash Shinde, who was roped in to be their main raider, must replicate his opening performance. Ankush, meanwhile, needs to bounce back quickly as a captain and defender.
