A raid is what makes VIVO Pro Kabaddi League exciting and, in this article, we deep dive into the previous season’s action. Each team scored more than 400 raid points with three teams topping in a surplus of 500 points. For the uninitiated, broadly, a raid point is secured when a player crosses the midline and enters the opponent’s side of the court in an attempt to score a point by touching any of the opponent player/s on the mat and returning to his side.

Let’s have a look at the most raid points scored by teams in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 8 in this article.

1. Bengaluru Bulls

Playing all their games at home and led from the front by the Hi-Flyer Pawan Sehrawat (304), Bengaluru Bulls topped the chart with a total of 535 raid points across 24 games. Leading in seasons 6 and 7 as well, they were table-toppers for a third straight year. Here’s some trivia - Pawan Sehrawat was his team’s highest scorer in a whopping 11 games including a memorable Eliminator 2 win against Gujarat Giants. Bengaluru Bulls were reinforced by Bharat who was their second-highest raid points scorer with 115 points.

2. U.P. Yoddha

Accumulating a mammoth 515 raid points, U.P. Yoddha comes second on the list. The accolades for this go to the duo of Surender Gill and record-breaker Pardeep Narwal who scored 189 and 188 raid points respectively. Their weightage in U.P. Yoddha can be seen from the fact that barring 3 games, these two were their team’s top raiders in 19 league games of the previous season. In fact, Surender Gill and Pardeep Narwal complemented each other well by inter-changing the main raider & supporting raider roles.

3. Dabang Delhi K.C.

The third team to secure more than 500 raid points (505) is Dabang Delhi K.C. courtesy Naveen Kumar who by playing just 17 games top-scored for his team with 207 raid points. The champion side was also bolstered by all-rounder Vijay who with 157 raid points was instrumental in Dabang Delhi K. C. securing the crown.

4. Bengal Warriors

What makes Bengal Warriors’ 4th spot peculiar is that it played just 22 games compared to 24 games played by other entries in the list. They score a total of 477 raid points. Apart from Maninder Singh who himself scored a whopping 262 raid points, Mohammad Nabibakhsh features as the 2nd highest scorer for Bengal Warriors with 89 raid points.

5. Patna Pirates

The league’s most successful side features 5th on the list of teams with the most raid points in the eighth edition. With a total of 469 raid points to their tally, their star performer clearly was Sachin with his individual 172 raid points. Raiders Guman Singh and Prashanth Kumar Rai too each fetched 95 points. Safe to say that this combined effort earned the team a spot in the Finals.
