The eighth leg of VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 at Ranchi came to an end on Thursday. Hosting their first-ever VIVO Pro Kabaddi this season, the city welcomed its home team and defending champions Patna Pirates with great enthusiasm. Ranchi proved to be lucky for the home team as they performed brilliantly to reach the summit of Zone B. After a week filled with exciting encounters, here are some of the best memories that unfolded the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium.

200 raid-point mark breached

Pardeep Narwal has been totally unstoppable so far this season. He ended Patna’s home leg with another record to his name. In the match against Bengaluru Bulls, Narwal became the first player ever to cross the 200 raid-point mark in a single season, and he reached the feat only in 15 matches.

First to reach 600 raid points

Telugu Titans may have had a disappointing Season 5 campaign but their talismanic leader Rahul Chaudhari remains the cynosure of all eyes. The most successful raider in VIVO Pro Kabaddi history and the poster boy of Indian kabaddi, Chaudhari crossed another mega milestone in the match against Bengaluru Bulls as he became the first player ever to cross 600 raid points in the league’s history.

Super 10s galore

In the 17 matches Pardeep Narwal has played for Patna Pirates so far this season, he has picked up 13 Super 10s, while also managing to go over 20 points on two occasions. During the Ranchi leg, Narwal became the proud record holder of the most number of Super 10s picked up in successive matches. His 8 consecutive Super 10s broke Anup Kumar’s previous record of 6 and set the bar even higher in the world of VIVO Pro Kabaddi.

Home dominance

In Season 5 so far, home advantage has not been fully utilised by every team as the pressure of performing every day seems to have taken a toll. However, defending champions Patna Pirates’ performance at home was one of sheer dominance and pure ruthlessness. Pardeep Narwal and Monu Goyat blew away opponents’ defences to ensure Patna ended their home leg at the summit of Zone B. They ended with 4 wins, 1 tie and 1 loss. Only Gujarat Fortunegiants have had a better home leg so far.
