The stage is set for a high-voltage clash as Gujarat Giants face defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers in Match 24 of PKL Season 12 at the Vishwanadh Sports Club, Vizag. Gujarat bounced back with a strong win against Tamil Thalaivas after a slow start, while Jaipur are still finding their rhythm, having suffered two close defeats in three matches. With Showstopper Shadloui looking to rediscover form and Nitin Kumar in red-hot touch for Jaipur, this encounter promises fireworks.
Gujarat Giants
Jaipur Pink Panthers
➢ Showstopper Shadloui is yet to arrive at the party
➢ Nitin Kumar in form – three back-to-back Super 10s for Jaipur
➢ Gujarat raiding needs a spark of motivation
➢ Nitin Panwar – the new wall for Gujarat defence
➢ Jaipur defence needs urgent improvement
➢ Sahil Satpal and Ali Choubtarash offer young blood and raiding support
Mohammadreza Shadloui, the best defender of PKL 11 and champion in the last two seasons, has had his slowest start to a season yet with just 6 raid points and 4 tackle points in 3 matches. Gujarat will hope their captain gets back to his dominant all-round game. Shadloui is already in the elite club with 300+ tackle points and 100+ raid points in PKL history, and against Jaipur he has 11 assists to his name. If he clicks, Gujarat’s defence will have a major boost.
Nitin Kumar has been the standout performer for the Pink Panthers this season, scoring three consecutive Super 10s and contributing more than 60% of Jaipur’s raid points. Known for thriving in the final 10 minutes, Nitin almost won Jaipur the game against Dabang Delhi but faltered in the last raid. Against Gujarat, he has a strong record, averaging 10 points per match with 3 Super 10s. Jaipur will once again rely heavily on his consistency.
After two disappointing results, Gujarat came back strongly with a win over Tamil Thalaivas. Their defence looked more assured with Nitin Panwar starring with three super tackles, while Shadloui contributed in both raid and defence. However, their raiding unit remains a concern – they are averaging the lowest raid points (14.7) among all teams this season and are yet to register a Super 10 from any raider.
The defending champions have had a mixed start with just one win in three matches. While Nitin Kumar has been in sensational form, their defence has struggled, averaging just 7.3 tackle points per match, the lowest in PKL 12 so far. Skipper Nitin Rawal, though a proven performer, has been inconsistent. However, positives include the rise of Ali Choubtarash, who impressed on debut, and young raider Sahil Satpal, who showed promise as Nitin’s support.

This clash is shaping up as a battle between Shadloui’s defence and Nitin Kumar’s raiding brilliance. Gujarat will bank on their defensive strength to cover their raiding shortcomings, while Jaipur will hope Nitin’s form continues and their defence finds stability. Expect a tight, low-scoring battle where defensive super tackles could decide the winner.
