Patna Pirates discovered a gem in young raiding sensation Ayan Lohchab in Pro Kabaddi Season 11.
The 19-year-old left raider made an instant impact for the Pirates in PKL Season 11 with his brilliant raiding skills and displayed remarkable composure under pressure.
Ayan impressed everybody on his PKL debut against Puneri Paltan at the GMCB Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The talented teenager notched up five raid points, however, his side went down 40-25 to Puneri Paltan.
The Pirates’ rising star hogged the limelight after he scored his first Super 10 versus Dabang Delhi K.C. in Hyderabad. The three-time PKL champions rode on Ayan’s 12 raid points to register a commanding 44-30 victory over the Delhi-based franchise.
Ayan later delivered a raiding masterclass against Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Hyderabad leg. He took the kabaddi mat by storm as he scored 14 raid points to help the Pirates secure a thrilling 43-41 win.
The youngster continued his outstanding debut campaign as he racked up Super 10s against the likes of Gujarat Giants, Bengal Warriorz, Bengaluru Bulls and UP Yoddhas.
Ayan once again grabbed the headlines as he accumulated 13 raid points to power the Pirates to a dominant 54-29 victory over the Bulls at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
With his match-defining performances, Ayan played a pivotal role in guiding the Pirates to the PKL Season 11 Final.
Having wrapped up PKL Season 11 with 184 raid points in 25 games, Ayan earned the coveted New Young Player award for his exceptional debut campaign.
Apart from his raiding credentials, the teenager provided assistance in defence by contributing with nine tackle points, including one Super Tackle.
Ayan’s Early Success
Born on October 9, 2005, Ayan rose to prominence after he won the gold medal at the 49th Junior National Kabaddi Championship. His team, SAI, beat Rajasthan in the final.
Having played for the Haryana state team, the rising star of Indian kabaddi has also bagged two gold medals at the Khelo India Youth Games.
Pro Kabaddi breakthrough
With his impressive performances, Ayan grabbed the attention of Patna Pirates’ scouting team.
The Pirates acquired his services through the NYP (New Young Player) programme ahead of PKL Season 11.
Having earned the well-deserved title of PKL Season 11’s Best New Young Player, Ayan seems to have a bright future ahead of him.
